New T/TAC SIM Professional Development Leaders

New TTAC SIM PD Leaders

Congratulations are in order for Dana McCaleb (far left), Jocelyn Washburn (second from right), and Whitney Miller (far right)  who achieved their goal of becoming SIM Professional Developer Leaders. This involved years of commitment, collections of evidence, and previous certifications in both SIM Learning Strategies and Content Enhancement as professional developers. They demonstrated superior knowledge of the Strategic Instruction Model and school change principles, and significantly contributed to the SIM Professional Developers network resources. Each of them achieved excellence in school-wide implementation of these practices, exhibited extensive knowledge in content literacy, while collaborating with partners and applying professional learning principles.

They are not only members of a worldwide network of SIM professional developers, but now are leaders within that network and we are so fortunate to have them here at our Virginia Tech T/TAC as strong instructional leaders.  Pictured with them are Irma Brasseur-Hock, co-author of the Fusion Reading Program, and Helen Barrier, T/TAC Coordinator of Inclusive Practices, SIM Professional Development Leader, and mentor to Dana, Jocelyn, and Whitney.
