In order to obtain credible data, well-trained raters who can follow a standardized observation protocol and reliably assign scores are crucial. The Classroom Assessment Scoring System™ (CLASS) is an observational instrument developed at the University of Virginia’s Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning to assess classroom quality in PK–12 classrooms.
